Workshop 7: Be job-competitive

Tired of winning the silver medal?  This workshop will focus on quick and easy ways to maximise your competitiveness when applying for your dream job.  With many practical and easy-to-implement tips, this workshop covers all stages of applying for a job, from your CV, to your written application, through to the dreaded interview. 

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this workshop, you will have built knowledge, skills and/or capability by:

– Creating a memorable CV
– Understanding the importance of personal presentation
– Practicing your first 7 seconds interview technique
– Writing a convincing and appropriate application and selection criteria
– Understanding career killers
– Planning your career over the next 5 years
– Learning effective interviewing techniques, including managing tough questions
– Understanding the relevance and impact of social media
– Maximising referees and references
– Learning to manage or overcome nerves
