Workshop 2: Public Speaking

Want to be an effective leader?  Then this is one skill you must have.  People have grave fears of speaking in public, but it doesn’t need to be like that.  Leaders need to speak confidently, and in an engaging way.  Most people can’t do one or both.  Join us in this fun workshop to learn to communicate and engage.  

Learning Outcomes: By the end of this workshop, you will have built knowledge, skills and/or capability by: 

– Understanding how fear can help, not hinder you
– Utilising tools to create presentations with a punch
– Building your confidence and managing your nerves
– Maximising your preparation time
– Learning skills to manage difficult questions and ‘speaking off the cuff’
– Learning the most effective way to prepare for any speaking situation
– Engaging with your audience
– Buying time and organise your thoughts
– Structuring your thoughts to deliver a structured, organised and logical presentation
– Conveying key messages in a engaging and memorable manner
– Establishing immediate rapport with your audience – good and tough crowds!
– Understanding your strengths and working on areas of development
– Appropriately use visual aids which don’t detract or distract
– Preparing, practicing, and delivering a short presentation.
